In July of 2008 Lightyear Network Solutions, a private federally licensed telecommunications company launched Lightyear Wireless, the first and only MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) that uses the Network Marketing business model to develop their wireless customer base.
Excel Communications became a billion plus dollar telecommunications company in 7 years, it's main core products were long distance phone plans and calling cards. Traded on the New York stock Exchange, Excel at the peak of it's business had over 1 million reps and created 500 millionaires and had thousands of people earning five and six figure per year incomes. Their business was created from a primary long distance bill. Excel developed it's business like most companies. It's formulation stage took five years where they generated million dollars. In the sixth and seventh year Excel achieved explosive growth and hit it's momentum phase, going from million dollars per year to 1.2 billion dollars in revenue.
Excel's compensation plan paid.25 % residuals down 5 levels and then paid 1% on level 6 and 5% on level 7. It took many hundreds if not thousands of people to develop a solid residual income. The pay plan was a standard uni-level plan that stopped at the 7th level. If you were very successful and had part of your organization below the 7th level you did not receive any income from that part of your Team.
Lightyear Wireless was launched on July 29th of 2008. Lightyear is different from all the other telecommunications companies in Network Marketing because they are the only one that owns the customer. They are not a reseller. Lightyear handles the billing, customer service and provisioning/activation in it's 80,000 square foot Corporate Headquarters in Louisville, KY. They activate and ship wireless phones directly to the customer. Virgin Mobile, prior to being bought by Sprint was an MVNO as well, just like Lightyear. In their first year Lightyear Wireless generated million dollars in revenue. It took Excel 5 years to achieve million.
In contrast, Lightyear Wireless has the potential to achieve it's billion dollar plus goal due to the size and shear magnitude of the Wireless Industry as compared to the Long Distance industry of the last 20 years. Wireless is a 150 billion dollar per year industry with over 280 million cell phones being used in the United States. The average household has more than one wireless phone in use with many homes having multiple phones with parents and children all using this necessity based product. With the average wireless bill at per month and most homes having a much larger bill, one can deduce that with the addition of long distance or VoIP the average home bill is three to four times greater than what Excel generated from each household customer.
Lightyear's compensation plan is far more generous and lucrative than Excel. Lightyear pays residuals down 8 compressed levels starting at 1% and maxing out at 4%. 1% is 400% greater than Excel at.25%. A compressed pay plan allows someone to follow down as many levels as it takes to reach their 8th qualified level. A qualified level is someone on that level who has 10 customer or service points and is a Senior Manager. What that means is if you have an organization that goes down 25 levels and you hit your 8th qualified level on level 25 then you make all the residuals from bills from level 25 compressed back up to level 1.
When someone from Lightyear has great success and they maximize the residuals at 4% they are earning 1600% higher residuals than Excel Communications offered.
When you combine the very large wireless and telecomm market and the higher average expenditure per household with the lucrative compensation plan of Lightyear, it is a winning formula to create a substantial long term, passive residual income for years to come. Excel Communications, in comparison, developed a billion plus dollar company with a quarter of the business volume and products and services per average household.
Lightyear Wireless stands poised to develop into the next Billion Dollar Telecommunications Network Marketing company like Excel Communications accomplished in the 90's. With a product and service that everyone has, everyone needs, and will use for the rest of their lives.
